Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the Beg Balance Scale(BBS) and
PerformanceOriented Mobility Assessment(POMA) as a fall risk screening tool in individuals with stroke.

Methods: Participants were recruited that they were receiving physical therapy during inpatient rehabilitation. The individuals with stroke voluntarily participated in the study, and BBS and POMA data from 3 hospital a retrospective review of 132 patient(male: 90, femalr:42) records were included.

Results: The intraclass correlation coefficient indicated that the BBS(ICC=.925) and POMA(ICC=.923) were good reliability. The mean BBS score was 40.71¡¾9.28, whereas the mean POMA score was 20.14¡¾5.23. Statistically significant correlation were not found between the BBS total scores and POMA total scores (r = 0.167). Statistically significant correlation between POMA fall risk scores and BBS fall risk scores were found (r = 0.268).

Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that to use the degree of falls risk forecast of POMA and BBS in individuals with stroke. Further study that will need the correlation between subject sex, age and sub factors as balance and gait in POMA and BBS.
